Advance your expertise in tire mechanics and engineering at this four-day comprehensive and industry-renowned University of Akron Tire Mechanics Short Course —a globally acknowledged course in polymer science and tire engineering education for 57 years. Designed for engineers, chemists, and scientists, this in-depth, immersive course delivers a review of fundamentals and cutting-edge insights into tire design and performance for both newcomers and seasoned professionals.
The basic and practical aspects of the mechanics of pneumatic tires will be introduced by internationally renowned experts, with a combined120 years of practical tire engineering and compounding experience at multiple tire industry R&D centers. Extensive and detailed course notes prepared by each instructor will be provided for all participants along with a 700-page e-book, The Pneumatic Tire, edited by Professors A. Gent and J. Walter.
Those who complete this course will receive a Tire Mechanics Short Course Certificate from The University of Akron.
Tire Society will offer course attendees a one-year membership, including online journal access and half-price access towards a Play-on-Demand replay of the Tire Society Conference, held concurrently with the Course”. Current Tire Society members enrolling the course will receive a $150 tuition discount to the Course.
